Same-Sex Marriages
I was reading up about the elections on www.cnn.com when i came across a part that stated the ballot measures on certain issues in various states. The issue that stood out the most to me was the issue of same-sex marriage. Many of the states, including Arkansas, Georgia and Kentucky appeared to support the ban on same-sex marriages.
I myself support the decision to ban same-sex marriages, simply because i don't think that it should be encouraged. By allowing these marriages to go on, we would be supporting same-sex marriages, and unless we are prepared to say this, i think that this ban is necessary.
But then, these are my own views. Everyone has a right to express their own thoughts on this matter, and i welcome those thoughts of yours.

I guess there's two consequences.
a) if same sex marriage is a norm in future, there wont be any increase in population. As it is, the rate is decreasing compared to decades ago.
b) These couples would like to have kids too, thus they adopt homeless kids and there wont be many orphans in future..
my opinion? i'll go with the (a). There's a reason why it was meant for a man falls in love with woman.

Why can't two people who love each other have the state at least recognize the lifetime commitment they have made to each other? If Britney Spears can be married for 55 hours, why is it such an issue for two people of the same sex who genuinely want to spend their lives together to marry and receive the same state benefits that a married couple would? At the very least, civil unions should be granted to same-sex couples. However, as long as this is termed a "religious" issue, the resolution is still far, far away. But in a country like America, where religion and state are separate, it saddens me to think that most of the opposition towards gay marriages stem from hate and lack of tolerance.
Then there's me... who just wants everybody to find their match and live happily ever after. Same sex or not. :)

love is love regardless of sex, and one should see love and naught else...
No one said an Adam can't love an Adam or an Eve with an eve. Its merely that same sex marriages should not be allowed for the obvious reasons.If they truly love eachother, then go ahead love eachother; sometimes things are beyond the restrainst of one's sex. But that still doesnt mean you need to get married, just to prove your love. As someone mentioned Britney, Britneys marriage did not prove and love, now did it?
