A Good Lie?
Is it acceptable to lie to a friend to keep that person from getting hurt because you know that the truth would hurt them?
What would you do? Is there such a thing as a 'good lie'?
Life is complicated. It not only comes in various colors but in various shades of each color. Black and white appear at opposite extremes of the spectrum and in between are all the different shades of colors. Thus, hot pink would be funky, lively and energetic while a rose white would symbolize a more serene, peaceful and pure environment. My life therefore, is colored in shades of pink.

Nope its not. I think honesty is the best policy especially when that person is close to you. Yeah you might hurt his/hers feeling for a while but you're friends will know that at least he/she can trust you and you'll always look out for them. The truth is out there. If you dont tell him/her, someone else will. And when you're friend finds out about the news whatever it is and also finds out that u knew and were hiding it, It would be a double setback. It could hurt a lot. Honesty is the best policy. Be honest and be there.

well, A lie could be said to be good if it is told by a good person. But how good can you be if you are telling a lie!
A lie is a lie,
no matter what color its painted,
and it will seem alright,
till u realise the relationship is tainted...
A lie though meant well wont change reality n the truth,
it just lets u live life with no sooth...
Lies are never good.
You may have good intentions, but the goodness in those intentions are extinguished when u do something like, lie.
Sometimes, the truth hurts. And thats the truth...

There is such a thing as a good lie .. but then again it depends on what it is about ... u dun necessrily hafta dump everything in one shot ... telling bit by bit is not lying ....
The world we live in today is such that you can have as many principles as you want and yet you will always find it near impossible to follow it strictly.
My advice to you is to take every situation as it comes. You can say that honesty is the best policy, but does your honesty serve to be truthful or does it serve to hurt someone with plausible deniability (I'm just telling him/her the truth).
Your question covers a grey area in life which is impossible to be answered with a conclusive answer.
In all you do, keep God's will close to your heart. You will never go wrong because He never leads those who trust in Him astray.
Take care.
Thanks for all the input guys. I was hoping to hear arguments from both sides.

Yes Don Juan, I already have my answer to the question but I was looking for other individual's perspectives. Thanks though for the observation.
